Major Lazer “Get Free” feat. Amber (Dirty Projectors)

Check out this video for “Get Free” by Major Lazer featuring Amber from the Dirty Projectors. I can’t stop listening to this song!!! I saw the Dirty Projectors in 2009 at Millenium Park with the Sea and the Cake.

They are a great band and Major Lazer is pretty dope also.

The Dirty Projectors will be playing Pitchfork Music Festival on Friday July 13th which is definitely worth checking out. This video gives me a GI Joe vibe, like those videos that were voiced over on Ebaumsworld.

Black Belles at Do Division Festival tomorrow!!!!

I am beyond excited for the Black Belles to be taking over tomorrow night at the Do Division Street Festival. Anything Jack White is involved with is golden, F***ing golden as Blagojevich would say.

My favorite song off their self titled debut is Honky Tonk but I didn’t see a full length video released for that yet. Check out the official video for “Wishing Well” which is their second single off their self titled debut.

Black Belles are headlining the Damen Stage at 8:30pm. JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound are playing the Leavitt stage at the same time. JC Brooks puts on a great show as I have had the pleasure of seeing them at JBTV studios and the Double Door. I haven’t seen the Black Belles yet so I will be checking them out tomorrow night.

Great Lake Swimmers at Lincoln Hall – May 1st

Great Lake Swimmers will be at Lincoln Hall next Tuesday, May 1st at 8pm with Cold Specks; $15. I am very excited for their return to Chicago. I saw them last summer at Evanston’s SPACE which opened in 2008. This venue is arguably the best in the Chicagoland area for Great Lake Swimmer’s aesthetic and provides an intimate setting with impeccable sound. I prefer Schuba’s over Lincoln Hall but I think it’s still a reputable venue.

Shows I have seen at Lincoln Hall include: Atlas Sound (TNK), Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin (SSLYBY), Camera Obscura and Kate Nash.

Anyways, this show is highly recommended as Great Lake Swimmers do not disappoint. Check out their video for, New Wild Everywhere off their new album which was released early April of this year.

Video below for Easy Come Easy Go which is also off their new album.

Cheers,

Miss Tastee
