MS MR

Can’t get enough of this band! I saw them at Lollapalooza this summer and they were amazing live. They will be at Lincoln Hall in Chicago tomorrow playing a sold out show. Check them out if you haven’t heard of them before!

Civil Wars – The One That Got Away (Studio Cut)

Here is a studio cut of “The One That Got Away,” off their self titled album that was released in August. They were nominated in early September for Best Duo by the Country Music Association. I’m a huge fan of the Civil Wars. It’s unfortunate there is news circulating that they broke up and will not be touring to support their new album. I hope they can make amends and continue making music in the future.

In Guards We Trust

I saw Guards at the Empty Bottle this past Monday in Chicago. They were amazing live and I can’t get their new album out of my head. Definitely check them out!!

The video below is a teaser for Nightmare off their new album, In Guards We Trust.

Check out this video for Silver Lining also off their new album.

The Early November at the Bottom Lounge

The Early November is playing in Chicago at the Bottom Lounge on October 19th in support of their new album, In Currents. Show starts at 7pm with seahaven and Cartel.

I’m extremely excited for this show as I have been a fan of theirs since high school.

Checkout “A stain on the carpet” off their new album.

My favorite song from The Early November is “Decoration.”

Hideout Block Party & A.V. Fest September 14th and 15th!!!

The Hideout Block Party is only a day away! This year they have joined forces with the A.V. Club to put on one hell of a music festival. The quality of artists this year is impeccable which is whI unfortunately will be out of town for a wedding and I am very jealous of all of you that get to see Glen Hansard, Iron & Wine, and Wilco… amongst others. If I had to pick one venue that signified Chicago’s diverse and supportive music scene I would say the Hideout is at the top. If you haven’t checked this place out please do. Support local music! I recently joined the Junior Board for Rock for Kids and a portion of the festival proceeds benefit Rock for Kids.

Rock For Kids provides music education to underserved children in Chicago, sparking creativity and passion, teaching critical thinking, supporting academic achievement and enriching young lives.

Join Rock For Kids at our Hideout Block Party/A.V. Fest booth, where they’ll be auctioning off great signed items from Justin Townes Earle, Andrew Bird, and many more of your favorites.
